In it's box and unpacked: https://imgur.com/a/ABY0JXw. That was a mistake. I got mine remanufactured (new casters, gas cylinder, arm pads, fabric) with a 12 year warranty from Crandall Office (u/cranda58 on Reddit) for $450, which is far less expensive than the $1000+ price of a new one. Both chairs are considered to be fully adjustable ergonomic chairs and include almost every adjustment available. I think it's because there is some tolerance in the seat adjustment. The armrests are trash, they're not 4-D adjustable and not fluid AT ALL. Today I'm reviewing the Steelcase Leap V2 (version 2) ergonomic chair and comparing it to the Herman Miller Embody and Herman Miller Aeron office chairs. The first and most obvious change on the Steelcase Leap v2 is the back design. The extra cushion in my seat was totally worth it. The thing that made it such a pain in the ass is that you don't adjust it until the screw is tight, because then the chair will move up and down on its own. The Steelcase 462 Leap V2 office chair has been the Steelcase flagship chair since being updated from the V1 version in 2007, and is still being made new today. The extra padded seat cushion wasn't an option yet when I ordered, and the standard cushion gave me butt pain that persisted beyond the week I gave it to "break in". It's specifically for the Steelcase Leap V2 but I'm sure your experience would be similar with other chairs. You don't have to give your credit card information over the phone like some other sketchy office furniture sites I read about. But if it's not adjusted tight enough, the height lever won't work. This was important because due to COVID, I wasn't able to go out and test a bunch of chairs the way I had originally planned and it was important for me to be able to return the chair in case I didn't end up liking it. I have chairs with head rest, and they’re good too just not leap v2 good imo. The seat/gas cylinder also started to creak whenever I sat down and got up from the chair. The armrests have a better design and are much more flexible in Leap V2. It even received three scores over 90. It’s actually not an issue and is very breathable. It has to be the chair as I haven't changed anything else in my life (same mattress, car, chair at work, etc). Unfortunately, as I sat in the chair longer, I experienced similar mid/upper back pain, and after giving it until the very end of the return window, I found myself still switching back to my work chair after a few hours (I was able to bring it home after I'd ordered the leap). Has it been holding up well as a refurb? Let me know in the comments if you have any questions. It's not tall enough and it feels as if the upper portion of my torso doesn't have any support. (Info / ^Contact). The extra seat cushion definitely makes a difference though. I ended up getting a thicker seat cushion, hardwood casters (since I have hardwood floors), and a heavy duty gas cylinder (I'm 6'0" and weigh 260lbs). 4.0 out of 5 stars Steelcase Leap Black Fabric V2 Office Chair: Multiple Adjustments w/ Lumbar Support Reviewed in the United States on March 22, 2019 So, I received this refurbished chair—and started using it in my home—on February 6, 2019, but wanted to wait a … I was looking to buy an Herman miller embody from craigslist but I saw reviews on this and gave it a try. My main concern was the seat and back fabric as I wanted it to be replaced and redone. Go on Craigslist and get an Aeron. I bought a Steelcase Leap V2, which I personally recommend. It's clear and concise and has QR codes linking to their assembly videos on YouTube. This is partly because both chairs are manufactured by the same company, as they have announced that both chairs offer a one-size-fits-all design. This chair is amazing if you have a bad lower back. I had the Leap v1 at my first employer. The Leap WorkLounge, developed in conjunction with IDEO, combines elegant form, rich materials, and Leap technology. My work chair is probably a ~$300 chair with much less adjustability than the leap, but thick foam on both the seat and backrest (which doesn't even go as high as the leap), but it works better for me than the leap. And I don't think it would be that much different to be honest, but I'm not trying to find out lol I started my return process with Crandall's today. 30 day return policy without a restocking fee and free return shipping. I also "really wanted to love the chair" but it just didn't work for me. This was the reason I wanted a chair with extra cushion and the seat and back of the Leap V2 don't touch, so my tailbone is not pressed up against anything. Just got the Leap V2 chair today. I've returned the chair, and am waiting for them to inspect it (tracking shows they received it late last week) and issue a refund - the process was relatively painless except the chair disassembly is much more difficult than assembly is.
